Death and Taxes Seminar: Community, Conversations, and Giving Back

Over the past several weeks, I had the pleasure of hosting my Death and Taxes Seminar in several towns and villages across our region. Each event brought together community members who wanted to better understand estate planning, funeral pre-planning, and how to protect their families from unexpected financial and emotional burdens.

While the topic may be serious, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and supportive. Our goal was simple:
to equip families with clarity, confidence, and peace of mind about the future.

What the Seminar Covered

During each session, we explored important topics such as:

• Why pre-planning your funeral is an act of love for your family
• How funeral costs are structured and what can be locked in
• The difference between wills, estates, and advance directives
• What taxes need to be considered at end of life
• How to ensure your wishes are honored and your family protected

Attendees appreciated the opportunity to ask personal questions, gain practical information, and walk away with resources they can use right away.

Supporting Local Communities

One of the highlights of this seminar series was the local fundraising that took place in each community. With the support of attendees and local partners, we were able to raise funds for organizations and initiatives meaningful to each town and village.

These fundraisers showcased the generosity of our communities and reminded us how powerful it is when people come together—not just to learn, but to give back.
